Case Study for GNERu (now National Express)

GNERu (now National Express)

GNERu is the central point for leadership and management development within GNER and manages the training and development of around 800 people.

Each student has their own development portfolio which holds the details of what they have studied and passed and what modules are open to them for completion.

Their study modules are available to study in ‘bite-size-chunks’ via the computer and throughout the modules there are regular assessments to check understanding of the information provided, as it is essential that the knowledge is understood before progressing to the skills modules.

GNERu plays a major part of GNER’s training – all staff development runs through the site including bookings for ‘live’ training courses and information for individual staff appraisals.

We have had a 4 year relationship with brightfive who developed and support our virtual university GNERu (now NXECu).

Most people in our company were not 100% familiar with computers for learning but following the introduction of the site for our managers, team leaders and deputies it has become the ‘club’ to be in with 1154 members.

On the occasions when we have needed support brightfive have been very reliable and supportive and I would highly recommend them.
